The Winter Retreat 2009

Just one week ago I was happily surrounded by all my wonderful scrappin' pals at our winter retreat. It was quite possibly our best retreat ever- everyone attending has participated in many retreats with me in the past, so it was just a wonderful time spent with old friends. Four solid days of scrapping, and quite late into the night as well.

I usually try to keep my regular schedule in effect at the retreats (crucial for a lifelong insomniac), but as one of the two year olds in my households has recently begun waking up every two hours all night long- I no longer seem to HAVE a regular schedule! So I pulled three 2 am nights on this retreat. I didn't want to lose any precious scrappin' time so I was back up and at 'em first thing each morning as well. I CRASHED when I came home on Monday. But it was so GREAT! And the page I did of my little guy Giovanni is awesome- I'm so happy with the final product! One page AND ****** full 4x6 photos with an additional 3 3x3 photos. I used the yummy Cosmo Cricket Snorkel line, "borrowed" pal Dana's glitter and Crystal Effects technique, add a half sheet of Hambly's Clearly Heavy Overlay, and several Swings and there you have it; my current favorite layout ever! To see it, and all the other amazing layouts we've been creating, you'll just have to wait til the new book book releases on July 1st!

So now the countdown begins til the May retreat, the weekend after Mother's Day. What better Mother's Day gift could there possibly be? Start leaving hints now!
